What Criteria Are The New Zealand Immigration Service Looking For

The New Zealand Immigration Service actively encourages migrants to its shores. There are of course specialist workers that the immigration service would like to coax to New Zealand, but they are willing to accept people who generally want to make a contribution to the society they wish to live in. The best way to gain residence in New Zealand is to enter as a skilled migrant, seemingly if you have the skills that are lacking in the New Zealand economy, migration is well worth considering.

The Immigration Service has laid down what it considers to be the skills that are required in the New Zealand economy, but your line of work is not the only thing that the immigration service will like to know about. Generally they wish applicants to be between twenty and fifty five, and to meet certain standards in terms of health and character. Drug and other legal offences may well harm your chances of entry into New Zealand.

The Immigration Service has developed a points system to deduce eligibility for immigration. To work out your eligibility you must submit an expression of interest, on doing this you can work out your points in terms of your skills, experience and other factors. If you gain more than 140 points you will be automatically selected for application, any points over 100 however are entered into a monthly draw.

When you are selected from your draw the credibility of your points is assessed. If this the assessment is positive you will receive an invitation to apply or ITA from the Immigration Service.

At this stage, proof of your skills, character and ability with the English language must be submitted before you can simply jump on the plane to New Zealand. The next stage is a full assessment of your claim and even the possibility of an interview to ensure you will bring the right qualities to New Zealand and not be detrimental to the unique way of life.

In terms of the trades and professions that the immigration Service of New Zealand consider to be in highest demand. Doctors and other medical staff are needed as are teachers and lecturers. With such a large agricultural industry, farming staff are required as are many other physical working trades such as electricians and plumbers. For those who are good with technology, communication and information technology workers are also needed, as are engineers more generally.

In New Zealand a productive work ethic is clearly evident. Residents are there to get the job done in efficient and speedy time. If you think you have a work ethic that resembles this, immigration may be for you. This does not however mean that if you are accepted you will spend all your time at work, in New Zealand the work-life balance is held in high regard by company directors and bosses. Employment hours are often flexible to suit your family and social needs, and of course to let you enjoy the stunning country that surrounds you.

If you feel you may be perfect for New Zealand and feel you can contribute to the society in a genuine way then immigration may be for you. It is worth putting in place an expression of interest with the Immigration Service as this the first step towards a new life. If your points are sufficient you may well find yourself on the other side of the world in no time.

With such a beautiful country and scenery that is truly outstanding it is hard to dispute that New Zealand is a brilliant place to live and work. With a healthy society promoting sport and well being, as well as environmental conscience, it is a country for the forward thinking and hard working.
