Determine Your Own Unique Scent
Each and everyone have his or her own unique body chemistry or should one say unique "smell." You typically give off a unique body scent distinctly your very own. This particular scent will definitely react to the perfume that you will apply so it is very important to know your scent before selecting fragrances.
The correct scent or perfume can give you a very positive outlook, encourages enthusiasm and induces optimism. Fragrance offers benefits of relaxation, alertness, increased efficiency, inspires confidence, improves overall mood and attracts as well as entices a partner.
Perfumes are more than just scented water for they contain natural essential oils. When you try or sample perfume on your skin, allow the perfume to settle. A perfume is made of three layers. The top layer emits a strong scent but then is the fastest one to fade. This is the scent that turns heads or attracts passersby or people you come across. The middle layer would be the scent that would lead to the base layer. After around 30 minutes, the perfume would have reached the middle layer and by this time the perfume has mixed itself with your body's natural smell. It is not the chemicals that make the scent linger but the perfume highlights and heightens your natural body scent.
Other important perfume points to bear in mind:
People with light and fair complexion tend to have dry skin. Perfumes basically have natural oil ingredients that will be absorbed by the skin just like moisturizers. Perfume scent can last longer when used in combination with an unscented lotion or a matching lotion in a similar scent. The perfume should be applied on the various pulse points, the parts that give off the most heat. These areas are behind the ear, base of the throat, crook of the arm, crook of the knee and ankles.
Some of the factors that could affect the fragrance or scent on our skin include age, body chemistry and diet. Certain essential oils contained in perfumes may be absorbed or not absorbed by your skin. This can account for the difference in scent because of the imbalance created.
Avoid exposing your perfume to too much air to make the perfume last longer. Prevent evaporation by keeping it away from extreme heat or cold and keeping the bottle cover closed at all times when not in use. Avoid exposing the perfume to sunlight.
When you decide to purchase a bottle of perfume, bear in mind certain considerations. Citrus, floral and fruity scents would be ideal for daily wear while the musky scents would go for evening and special occasions.
