The dental profession and the dental equipment and supply industry are due for a huge expansion and dramatic change in the next few years says the chairman of a major N.Y.corporation. A European businessman sees the capacity of the dental field to rapidly develop in the next couple of years with more Americans vying for personal dental coverage in complete opposition to the field's early years where dentistry was rather slow to achieve workable third party payment plans. The reason behind the sluggish growth of the dental profession can be attributed to the lack of funds from the industry itself but with the rapid growth of dental coverage the notion of the profession improving in the years to come is not farfetched.

The sales of dental equipment and dental supply traders can easily experience a doubling of figures in real terms in the following years with industry estimates capable of achieving a billion dollars in yearly revenues. If earnings by dental professionals are counted then the total revenue generated by the dental field can amount to a whopping ten billion dollars. Only half of the American population will consider going to the dentist and this article will be talking about why this is happening especially with constant improvements in the field.

From the need to purchase dental insurance policies are now simply being given away. Should these people suddenly feel the urge to seek dental care there may not be enough available dentists. The number of practicing dentists especially in the United States is only about a hundred thousand with a majority choosing to work for the military of public health centers. Figures for the yearly percentage increase in the number of people who graduate dental school and those who end up as practicing dentists are only a poor 4.5 and 1 percent respectively and so the struggles faced by the field of dentistry begin to unravel.

Where other fields of medicine succeeded dentistry failed and this is pertaining to the lack of economic development that dentistry has undergone through the years. The great demand for dental services cannot be met by the dentist who works at a sluggish pace but working slow is not a choice made by these practitioners. Not having dental teams add to the problem because with other fields of medicine procedures can be accomplished quickly due to the series of medical personnel works side by side.

Fast does not always result to efficient work being done and the dentist who needs to perform oral surgeries and other procedures should take all the time he needs to ensure that everything runs smoothly. The pressure is not only handed out to the dentists but to those who supply them with dental equipment and other materials and so these people should consistently try to provide the professionals with the latest tools and machines that can help make their work easier.
