Easy Email Marketing techniques You Can Use To Expand Your Online Business
Part II
Spam filters are the first problem you need to overcome when using email marketing, as these can prevent your emails from being seen. In order to protect their customers from spam or unsolicited messages, email service providers have fairly advanced technology to filter out certain emails. In order to decide whether an email is spam or legitimate, the spam filter uses a points system to rate each email. Depending on the particular provider or how the customer has set up his account, emails that get a high number of spam points are sent to the spam folder or deleted outright. Spam filters are triggered by certain words, whether in the subject line or body of the email, which include "wealth," "free" or "making money," so avoid using these. These spam filters work so well that very often people won't get emails that they'd like to receive. In each email, just keep your focus on a topic, or theme, in each one and be consistent. Trying to cover more than one topic is not a proven way to do this, and you don't really have enough space to do it well. You'll always want to avoid anything that will have a negative impact on your open rates.
Also, some IM marketers think the double opt-in will cut down on the number of spam complaints. The double opt-in process is a two step opt-in in which the user is sent an email, and then that user has to click on a link in the email to confirm that they want to subscribe.
This protects the email marketer from accidental, or purposeful, accusations of spam from anyone on his list. It just serves a verification and confirmation process. Don't worry about the people who don't confirm their email - they weren't that serious any way.
Each email you send should have a call to action about something, and not necessarily to buy something, either. A call to action is just telling your reader to do something specific whatever that may be. If your email contains promo links, then tell them to click on it now. Don't hesitate in being repetitive with your call to action. You will, though, want to avoid annoying your reader with too many calls to action, probably no more than three times. If you need to include instructions, then do it because if you don't it will decrease conversions. You'll be making a common mistake by assuming readers will take the time to figure out what to do. So always include benefits and then any clear instructions for them to follow.
Seriously - you do not want to attempt this at home (manually) because it will consume all of your time. So you'll just save a lot of time, plus you just pre-write your emails and it sends them on a schedule. And after anyone opts in to your list, then you can automatically send them a nice little thank you email. Lots of marketers just send content in their emails, and of course other things such as courses, etc. You can still do well with your email marketing, but it's very important to learn more and as much as you can.
