Email Marketing Tips for The Novice Marketer

Part I
Email marketing is the main focus of many internet marketers. They realized that the value of building a list and carrying out effective email campaigns can create big profits over the course of time. This article will be focusing on email marketing tips that will help you boost your sales and conversions.

Email marketing can be just as profitable today as it was years ago, even though it's not quite as easy as in the beginning. There have been so many new marketing developments in the past 10 years, but email list marketing has been and still is going strong. The kind of response and the level of traffic you can generate through an email marketing campaign can be huge, depending on how you do it. We'll continue and talk about a few email marketing suggestions that will help get you going in the right direction.

Shocking as it may be, there are some email marketers who, unwisely, do not provide any links or means for un-subscribing or opting out from their list. Perhaps they erroneously believe that providing an unsubscribe link will reduce their list size. But the fact is, if your emails are really that worth it, very few would want to get off from your list. And according to the growing rules and regulations in the email marketing world, it's really important to give your subscriber a link to unsubscribe. Also, the unsubscribe link must take them to a web page where they can immediately unsubscribe. If you want, you can force people to do the double opt-in because the thinking is that it will weed out those who are too lazy to do the double opt-in.

A lot of marketers like to include the main benefit in the subject line as well as be expressive to grab attention. Be sure you don't make it overly complicated, simple and direct will do much better. At the very least, your email will not be deleted because you have annoyed your reader with a short story for a subject line. Quite simply, your subject line has the responsibility of sparking curiosity and the desire to know more. Your open rate is an important metric and naturally as high as you can make it. When you compose your emails, always be consistent in your topic and keep each one focused on one topic. It's important to do this and avoid straying off into other topics. You never want to do anything that will cause your readers to stop opening and reading your emails.
